Fishbone Kitchen + Bar Adds Portuguese Flavor To Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Foodies, get ready. There's nothing quite like waiting for a new restaurant celebrate it's grand opening. Laguna Beach is celebrating Fishbone Kitchen + Bar, situated next to Panno Place, is a must for lovers of unique cuisine and atmosphere.

Fishbone Kitchen + Bar, the former Tortilla Republic, is located on 480 S. Coast Highway. The restaurant, open this winter, specializing in Mediterranean inspired Portuguese cuisine. Come for lunch and dinner, daily. Event space is available for groups.

When you arrive, be ready to take part in that Portuguese tradition of sharing food at the table with family. The new menu, introduced late December, will not disappoint.

Come for the tapas, or snacks. A bowl of mixed olives with smoked paprika are a scintillating way to wake your palate to the Portuguese flavors, as are the Boquerones toasts, with perfectly prepared white anchovy, piquillo and garlic aioli.

To start your meal, choice of salad or appetizer. You cannot go wrong with the delicious deep fried Brussels sprouts, with garlic jalapeno sweet chili, peanuts and micro cilantro, or the decadent fried goat cheese, served with orange wildflower honey and granny Smith apple slaw with candied pecans.

For your main dish, try the sizzling flat iron steak in a chimichurri and tomato compote, or for seafood, the you cannot go wrong with the shrimp and crab linguine, served with bay scallops, fennel, chilies, in a white wine cream sauce.
