YogaWorks and Yogis and Friends are hosting a yoga benefit, dinner, kirtan, and silent auction on Saturday, Oct. 22, for a girl with cancer.
Brita Corradini is an inspiring woman fighting the toughest battle of her life while pregnant, raising an adorable toddler girl, and trying her best, every day, to be the fun, loving and supportive wife, daughter and friend her community has known her to be. But, at 31 years old, with dreams of a career as a pastry chef and a growing family on her horizon, Brita never could have imagined that she would add a diagnosis of Stage 2 breast cancer to her list.

Suddenly, everything has changed for the Corradini family. Instead of a summer spent playing in the sand at the beach, Brita was undergoing her first round of chemotherapy and showing up at countless doctor appointments. But throughout it all, the uncertainties of her pregnancy, the loss of income, the astronomical insurance deductibles, the hair loss and the changes from her “normal” life as a wife and mom, Brita remains an amazingly beautiful and positive light. Brita believes that: “Love can conquer all!” The positive energy and amazing support that she and her family have received from the community gives her “the fight and the drive to beat cancer.”
Saturday's fundraiser will take place at YogaWorks on Coast Highway. Please join us as we continue to give our love and support to Brita and the Corradini family. The benefit starts at 4:30 p.m., with an hour yoga class for adults and an hour yoga class for kids. The classes will be followed by a special dinner at 5:30 p.m., and an inspired kirtan with live music and special guest performers from 6 to 8 p.m. Everyone is welcome at any or all of the scheduled events. We are asking for a minimum donation of $35 per person and $50 per family. All donations will be accepted at the door of the event.
