LAGUNA BEACH, CA — It's summer! And even though June continues to be a bit gloomy in the mornings, the sunshine does break through. Here's a look at Main Beach taken from Heisler Park by our Patch Staffer Brian Barwick.
What is your favorite part of this picture? We love that you can see the lifeguards ever-present on the shore.
As the weather warms up, more of us are getting in that giant pool, also known as the Pacific Ocean. So, we'd like you to remember when you head out to the ocean:

- Check the conditions of the currents and never swim alone.
- Swim in zones designated for swimming, not surfing.
- Wear your sunscreen!
- Be alert for sea life, ocean mammals, and know the potential for sharks in your area.
- Finally, when you go to the beach, if you pack it in with you, pack it out! and if you see trash, pick it up and toss it.
