The daily themes for Junior Explorers at The Ranch at Laguna Beach include:
- WEDNESDAY: Garden Party
Campers venture to the Ranch LB’s historical Scout Camp to meet with Farmer Leo, who will teach them all about planting, harvesting, and composting. While there, explorers will enjoy a morning of games, and create arts to take home. The morning ends with lunch before wrapping up for the day.
- THURSDAY: Artists’ Summit
Children design their own nature journals and head out on an exploration adventure, where they can practice plein air sketching and learn about the artistic influences at The Ranch at Laguna Beach. Adventurers make it back just before lunch, followed by a sandy game.
- FRIDAY: Canyon Wildlife
Explorers go on a nature hike to spot signs of wildlife in the Aliso Canyon. While there, they can make clay casts of their favorite tracks to take home as a keepsake of the adventure. The morning is followed by camp lunch and another round of fun activities.
- SATURDAY: Aviation Adventure
Owls and hawks greet campers in an interactive class with OC Birds of Prey Center. There, kids will learn about raptors in the wild and their rehabilitation, and will also have the chance build their own structures for flight. Explorers end their week with games and lunch.
Young resort guests and local kids can also learn the fundamentals of golf at The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s Junior Golf Summer Camp. At this four-day camp, kids and teens can learn game etiquette and rules as they practice on The Ranch at Laguna Beach’s Ben Brown’s Golf Course, the only golf course in Laguna Beach. On the last day of camp, kids can attend a special graduation ceremony, where they receive their very own Ranch swag bag.
