The LBCF has made it possible for the Club staff to implement awareness programs that teach children the tools to be mindful that; their resources are limited and help them strive to do more with less. Two bins have replaced every trash can; the one that holds recyclable materials is always substantially larger. This helps remind members, everyday, that they are helping the environment by not adding to landfills. In Positive Sprouts, members increase both knowledge and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables with the gardens they built and harvested with a hands-on educational curriculum. The grant also provides support for field trips that allow Club staff to take the members out into the natural beauty and amazing ecosystem that surrounds them in Laguna Beach.
Thanks to the Laguna Beach Community Foundation, the next generations of Club alumni are sure to respect, protect and explore the environment landscape.
