Laguna Beach Council To Interview For View Restoration Committee
On Tuesday, the Laguna Beach City Council reviews applications for three opening positions on the committee, two incumbents & one newcomer.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — What do you do when trees are blocking your views of the ocean or canyons in Laguna Beach? Contact View Restoration Committee. That group, consisting of a five-person committee, works to ensure that residents can enjoy the best parts of living in Laguna while maintaining native trees and plants' integrity.
"The committee reviews view claims, submitted by property owners, to restore pre-existing views that are alleged to be significantly impaired by vegetation," the city says on its website.
The committee is run by residents, appointed by the city council, conducts hearings, reviews claims, hears testimony, and determines whether a resident's pre-existing view has been obstructed.

The Laguna Beach City Council will meet Tuesday to interview three applicants for the three opening positions on the View Restoration Committee.
Residents of Laguna Beach can submit claims to the city that their views —original to the property— are being "significantly impaired by vegetation," according to the city.

According to the city, the terms of the three-member committee, Rebecca Carson, Ruben Flores, and Ara Hovanesian, will expire at the end of March. Bob Earl and Jeffrey Feldman, vice-chair, will continue in their positions until March of 2022.
Carson and Hovanesian have expressed a desire to continue on the committee, while Flores has not. Instead, Jennifer Potratz has expressed her desire to join the committee for the next two-year term.
