Laguna Beach High School Soccer Coach Steps Off The Pitch
Daniel Richards has shared that he is leaving the Laguna Beach High School boys soccer program, stepping down as head coach.
LAGUNA BEACH, CA —The head coach of the Laguna Beach High School boys soccer program will step down, over social media. Daniel Richards tendered his resignation, due to scheduling difficulties with other coaching commitments. He is the assistant coach for Cal Poly Pomona Women's Soccer, as well as the Pateadores soccer club.
Under Richards, the Breakers record was 64-62-38 in their overall record, the Daily Pilot reported. Under Richards, the boys made five CIF Southern Section playoff appearances from 2012 to 2015, the last qualifying in 2017.
"I wanted to make sure that when I finally left the (Laguna Beach High School) program it would be in a stronger and more healthy position for whoever was lucky enough to work there next," he wrote. "With a strong culture, amazing facilities and equipment, a healthy booster club, new young talent coming through...I'm sure the program will only improve."
