Laguna Beach Hospitality Night Schedule, Road Closures

It's the most wonderful night of the year in Laguna Beach! Join Santa for the lighting of the tree on Friday, with music and festivities.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — It's the most wonderful night of the year in Laguna Beach! This Friday, at Hospitality Night, gather to sing carols, mingle with neighbors, and watch Santa light the tree.

As always, the event is free and open to the public.

The long-running Hospitality Night takes place on the first Friday of each December, according to the City of Laguna Beach.

The city and the Chamber of Commerce jointly sponsor Hospitality Night each year. Residents will gather from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.at the Peppertree Lot (Lot 2).

Santa Claus will arrive to greet holiday revelers before the tree lighting at 6:10 p.m.

Then, mix and mingle down on Lower Forest Avenue where live entertainment and merchant open houses await for your shopping pleasure.

Schedule of Events:

  • 5:15-6 p.m. - Thurston Middle School Band playing in the Pepper Tree Lot
  • 5:30-6 p.m.- Elementary School Choir performs in front of Santa's Hut
  • 5:30 p.m. - Kid's Activities begin in the Pepper Tree Lot
  • 6:10 p.m.- Santa and Mayor arrive on Ocean Avenue
  • 6:10-6:15 p.m. - Tree Lighting Ceremony
  • 6:15-7 p.m. - LBHS Brazz Quartet performs on the Pepper Tree Stage
  • 6:20 p.m.- Community Concert Band performs on Beach Street
  • 6:50 p.m. - Anneliese School performs on Main Stage on Forest Ave
  • 7:30 p.m. - The Farm performs on Main Stage on Forest Ave
  • 10 p.m.- End of Event
  • 10:45 p.m. - All Road Closures are opened

Traffic and Closures:

Street closures in the downtown area will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, the city says.

Portions of Forest Avenue, Beach Street, and the Pepper Tree Parking Lot will be closed to vehicular traffic prior to and during the event.

Forest Avenue in front of City Hall and the Third Street hill will remain open.

Public Transportation:

Take the Trolley to Hospitality Night - On Friday, December 6, take the trolleys to Hospitality night. The neighborhood trolleys (Bluebird Canyon, Arch Beach Heights, and Top of the World) will run extended hours from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. You can also ride the Coastal trolley from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
