Laguna Beach Pateadores Girls 2005 Congratulated As State Champs!

The girls 2005 soccer team was congratulated in front of their city on May 8 for winning Cal South State Cup in their age bracket. Congrats!

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — It was a long tournament for the Laguna Beach 2005 Girls soccer team, who recently brought home their 2018 CalSouth State Cup Governor's Division Soccer trophy.

The girls were awarded a Proclamation by the city for their efforts on the field.

"This group of dedicated and talented athletes has proudly represented the Pateadores Soccer Club, but mainly the City of Laguna Beach with great distinction," Laguna Beach Mayor Kelly Boyd said. "This is a major achievement."

The team, coached by Earl Alexander, was surrounded by parents, families and friends at the meeting.

“Coach Earl Alexander is to be commended for his dedication to the Laguna Beach Pateadores and the development of these outstanding soccer players,” Mayor Boyd’s proclamation said. “Ably supported by all the parents, but especially Enich Harris and Chris Boyd.”

The team’s name, “Patedores,” means “kickers” in Spanish, Coach Earl Alexander told the City Council.
