Laguna Beach Village Entrance Project Update

Final Phase work on the Laguna Beach Village Entrance Project begins on February 18, 2020.

Construction will require closure of the Lumberyard parking lot (Lot 12). Lots 10 and 11 will be open and available to the public.

During the final phase of construction, parking spaces around the Digester building will be available to the public on evenings and weekends. Parking around the Digester is reserved for City Hall employees Monday - Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Village Entrance Project Phase 2A Key Achievements:

-Completed hardscape improvements including curbs, gutters, permeable decorative pavers, and asphalt pavement;

-Completed construction of new Police Department storage building and Fuel Island for City vehicles;

-Installation of storm drains, water quality basins, and irrigation;

-Installation of new LED lighting throughout the area;

-Inspection and planting of low water-use trees and landscaping at site.

- Installation of additional channel fencing along both sides of the drainage channel.

Upcoming Improvements in Final Phase 2B:

-Reconstruct Lumberyard Parking Lot;

-Reconfigure Parking Within Lumberyard Parking Lot;

-Install Additional Landscaping

The Village Entrance Project features wide walking trails, new bicycle racks and new pedestrian paths made from decorative concrete and decomposed granite. Paved roads, bridges, and new parking lots support better circulation and traffic flow at the Village Entrance Project site creating a safer environment for pedestrians, bicyclists and vehicles. When Complete, the Village Entrance Project Will Provide 370 Vehicle Parking Spaces.

Final Project Phase 2B is scheduled to last from February 2020 to May 2020.
