Man Injured in Fall from Cliff Near Laguna Beach

The 25-year-old man has been airlifted to a nearby hospital.

A 25-year-old Laguna Niguel resident was injured when he fell onto the rocks above Secret Cove near Table Top beach, the Laguna Beach Police Department confirmed this afternoon.

Sergeant Tim Kleiser of the LBPD said the man fell approximately 20-feet and hit his head on the rocks. His injuries were not thought to be life threatening, but he was airlifted by Ocean County Fire to Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo for treatment. The incident happened at approximately 12:23pm.

Police on the scene said they did not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.

This is the second high-profile incident involving a pedestrian falling from a cliff in Southern California this week. Earlier in the week, a man died after falling from a cliff in La Jolla while distracted by his cellphone.
