October Whale Watching In Full Swing Off Laguna Beach Coastline
The whales are back in Orange County!

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — It's a great time of year for whale watching, local experts say.
Already so far this Month of October we have seen Fin Whales , Humpback Whales, and of course our beloved little stinky minkes, according to Dona Kalez of Dana Wharf Whale Watching.
"Yesterday we even had a Gray Whale ( going North ) not sure what he was doing but very late north bounder," she said. "We are about a month away from seeing what we normally call our first gray whale of the season but they would be going south!"

"Twitch has a tail injury which makes him very noticeable to everyone when he flukes," Kalez says. "The passengers call out there is Twitch!"

Dana Wharf has had the opportunity to document Twitch many times before the COVID shut down and since reopening we have continued to see him, she says.
Whale Watching is a wonderful hobby for locals staying close to home or doing things in small groups. It is growing in popularity, according to Kalez.
