With schools reopening, there's still time to enjoy remote learning in a stay-cation at some of OC's finest hotels.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Have you daydreamed about just getting away from it all? Not even a month into remote learning, parents are already wanting to return to a summer state of mind. There may still be time before your child returns to the classroom!
In Laguna Beach, The Ranch at Laguna Beach is only too happy to oblige. Enter, the "School in the Canyon." Here, as parents can work or relax, kids can enjoy virtual Shark School powered by the Ocean Institute, enjoy outdoor study space with wi-fi, as well as "energy drop" amenities.
Situated where the sea and canyon meets, The Ranch at Laguna Beach is considered one of National Geographic's "unique lodges of the world." With many outside amenities, this is the perfect getaway. Consider timing your visit with one of the outdoor demonstrations, such as Birds of Prey, Junior Golf Camp, or a Harvest Garden Tour.

A bit further south, Dana Point, the Monarch Beach Resort has mastered the art of a getaway "Edu-Cation."
For the first time in history, parents of traditionally educated children are testing their wings. Just because your student is learning remotely doesn't mean it has to be from your home.

Resorts, such as the Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, is booking the Edu-Cation package, where parents stay in a room with additional day use guest room.
This serves as a study space for the kiddos, the resort says. There is also homework help on hand from Princeton Review tutors, they say, along with an outdoor enrichment program when the school day is done.
Rooms start at $869 a night for a traditional Monarch Guestroom, $1,619 for a fireside terrace room, and can cost as much as $2,249 a night for a one bedroom suite. If you book on their website, you may get a third night, free.
In 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic, Orange County and San Diego are starting to reopen classrooms. Riverside County and Los Angeles County is a bit further behind in school reopenings.
Denise Chapman, marketing manager for the resort told ABC News, "our team is excited to transform Monarch Beach Resort’s 175 acres of space into an inspiring setting for school children and their families this fall."
