LAGUNA BEACH, CA — From Laguna Beach City Hall to the White House, Tuesday’s election is crucial. Voters have marked their ballots for their chosen leaders, on tax measures, and proposals that will shape California for generations to come.
Now that everyone's cast their votes, the question is: So who won? What passed or failed? In Laguna Beach, results are filtering in for the City Council race, the race for city clerk, and the governing board of Laguna Beach Unified School District.
The numbers will fluctuate throughout the next many hours and even days, until all Orange County votes are counted by the Registrar of Voters.

Laguna Beach's City Council Race showed preliminary tallies as of 9 p.m. showed incumbent Mayor Bob Whalen earning 25 percent of the votes, George Weiss with 22.4 percent of the votes, Ruben Flores with 21.1%, Larry Nokes at 19.1, and incumbent Steve Dicterow at 12.4 percent of preliminary votes. The top two candidates will win seats on the city council.

Laguna Beach's race for city clerk shows Ann Marie McKay ahead with 52.4 percent to Mariann Tracy's 47.6 percent of the vote as of 9 p.m.
In the race for the Laguna Beach Unified School District's Governing Board, Kelly Osborne held an early lead of 32.4 percent. Incumbent Jan Vickers earned an initial 25.1 percent, with Amy Kramer, Sheri Morgan and Howard Hills trailing as of 9:30 p.m.
Laura Parisi ran unopposed for City Treasurer.

Laguna Beach's State Assembly District 74 Race Results:
More than 1.7 million people are registered to vote here in Orange County, according to the latest voter registration numbers from Secretary of State Alex Padilla's office.
Updates will continue each weekday by 5 p.m. during the canvass period until the last official votes are posted.
