Red Flag Warning for the City of Laguna Beach Through 8 a.m. Tues

Laguna Beach, CA – Extreme fire weather conditions continue across Southern California with a dangerous combination of strong Santa Ana winds and extremely low relative humidity. Due to these conditions, the Laguna Beach Fire Chief has issued a Red Flag Warning for the City of Laguna Beach effective immediately through 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27th. Sustained winds of 25-35 MPH with gusts of 35-40 MPH in the canyons are possible throughout the evening and overnight along with low humidity levels. An elevated sense of awareness is imperative during extreme weather conditions.

Laguna Beach residents should take this time to evaluate their preparedness levels. Please refer to the Ready! Set! Go! Program available on the Fire Department website (www.lagunabeachcity.net/readysetgo). Register for AlertOC which is the City’s mass notification system by going to www.alertoc.com, make sure you include your cell phone number, text number, and email addresses so we can contact you no matter where you are. During a Red Flag Warning, parking restrictions are implemented for the Diamond/Crestview Neighborhood. Any vehicles who are parked in marked parking spaces with a “red flag” painted in the center of the asphalt may be cited or towed. When Red Flag Warnings are issued this information will be shared on the City’s website, social media accounts, official press release, and through Nixle.

Due to fire conditions, trailhead access from Alta Laguna and Mouton Meadows is now closed. The County has also closed Laguna Coast and Aliso Woods Parks.
