Sandpiper's Chip Harrell Mourned In Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — Chip Harrell, one of the two brothers who owned the Sand Piper Lounge, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, they reported over social media. Chip as he was known, was a favored resident of the city, known and loved by many.

Francis Lightfoot Lee Harrell III, was "a very important and special man to our Sandpiper family," they said in their post.

Harrell "embodied the spirit of Laguna," StuNews said over KX93.5 radio last week. He will be remembered at a memorial service on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Sandpiper Lodge, located at 1183 S. Coast Highway.
