Breakfast will be served from 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. All proceeds from the event benefit the prevention of child abuse here in Orange County.
Wykoff Way Storm Drain Lining - Last week, crews began lining a deteriorated storm drain pipe that extends from Wykoff Way to Bluebird Canyon Drive. The work was expected to be completed this week, as was reported in last week’s update report. However, due to unforeseen conditions, a different type of liner needs to be used for a portion of the pipe. It will take up to four weeks to manufacture the correct liner type. During the delay, steel traffic plating will be used to cover the trench in Wykoff Way. Notices of this delay have been delivered to the residents on Wykoff Way.

Pacific Vista Slope Stabilization – Next week construction will begin to permanently stabilize the slope adjacent to the intersection of Pacific Vista and Gainsborough Drive. The work includes construction of grouted steel rods that penetrate deep into the slope, a structural concrete surface covered by a colored rock-scape design, landscaping and irrigation. Construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of November.
Drunk Driving Checkpoint – On Saturday August 31 between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m., the Police Department will be conducting a drunk driving checkpoint at an undisclosed location. The primary goal of these checkpoints is to educate the community about the perils of driving under the influence, while also removing dangerous drivers from the roadway. All checkpoints are funded through a State of California Office of Traffic Safety Grant.
New Lifeguard Headquarters and Public Restroom – The basement level concrete has been completed. The structural slab at grade level that covers the basement was poured on Friday, August 23. The next step is to remove the shoring bracing then begin the forming of the exterior walls. The project is through the most difficult stages and work progress should noticeably improve.
