
It's that time of year again, when the Victoria Skimboards World Championships (a.k.a. "The Vic")Â take over Aliso Beach in South Laguna this Saturday and Sunday.
Head on down, plant a blanket, and gawk in amazement as pro skimboarders from all over the globe converge on some of the best skimming waves around.Â

The VIC, previously known as the Victoria World Championship of Skimboarding (WCS), returns to Aliso Beach Park in Laguna Beach on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30. The VIC is the longest-running skimboard contest on the professional circuit and the only that offers a live broadcast of the competition for audiences to experience from all around the globe.
June 2013 marks the 37th annual championship event. "The contest has the broadest world-wide appeal of any other competitive event on the professional skim circuit," commented General Manager of Victoria Skimboards, Kyle McClure. "We are taking the action from the sand, and catapulting it to viewers worldwide."Â

Riders from across the world including Japan, Chile, Australia, Portugal, the Philippines, Spain and Mexico will be battling for the skimboard industry title of "World's Best."Â From barrel rides to aerial tricks to technical challenges, all of the top tricks and skills will be showcased at the contest.
Join us on June 29 and 30 to watch the stars of skimboarding compete for the title of "Word's Best" at The VIC at Aliso Beach Park.
