Southland Man Dies Off Table Rock Beach In Laguna

A San Bernardino County resident died, Friday after lifeguards swam his body to shore at Table Rock Beach.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — A San Bernardino County man was pronounced dead after being found in the water off Table Rock Beach Friday afternoon, officials reported.

Louis Alberto Sanchez of Bloomington, was pronounced dead later at an area hospital, according to the OC Register.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Orange County lifeguards responded to the sighting of the body, and swam Sanchez to shore. There, Laguna Beach firefighters attempted to resuscitate him, to no avail.

Laguna Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene and performed CPR, Orange County Lifeguards Capt. Brad Herzog told Patch.

Orange County Sheriff's Department's Duke 6 helicopter airlifted him from the beach to nearby Mission Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Orange County Coroners will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death, according to OCSD spokeswoman Carrie Braun.
