Weekend Men's Laguna Volleyball Open Championships At Main Beach
June 3 and 4 the beach in Laguna will be packed with fans watching men's volleyball action. Come join the fun, the city says.

LAGUNA BEACH, CA — On June 3 and 4, Laguna Beach will be flooded with volleyball fans out to watch the Men's Open Volleyball Championships. A $5,000 prize is on the line for 32 teams that will compete over Saturday and Sunday in the competition, the city of Laguna Beach said.
This is the 63rd annual event, according to the the California Beach Volleyball Association. The tournament will run Saturday through Sunday, with a field tournament Director Kirk Morgan described as “loaded," according to the L.A. Times.
The courts will be determined by the beach erosion in the area,

From a full bracket of 32 teams down to 20 or 24, Mother Nature is the boss. The top 4 Laguna teams and the next 16 to 28 top seeded CBVA teams will compete.
"Tradition runs deep in Laguna Beach," Morgan said on the CBVA website. "All the great players have competed here over the years and we look forward to world-class competition and a fun, great volleyball experience in the world's oldest continuously run men's Open tournament."

Expect pumping music, crowds, court-side tents for players, VIP's, sponsors and local beach groups.
"This is a two day, double elimination tournament, match play format and a great fun tournament," he said.
