Art & Creativity for Healing Gala
Over 300 attendees helped Art & Creativity for Healing net $80K at their beautiful Palette of Colors–A Taste of Barcelona Dinner & Auction Gala on June 10 at the Lyon Air Museum Hanger in Santa Ana.
In its 17th year, the popular annual fundraiser supports the nonprofit’s emotional healing programs utilizing art and creative expression for individuals living in pain, grief, fear or stress.
Art & Creativity for Healing Founder/Director Laurie Zagon said, “Thanks to the generosity of our guests we were able to raise critical funding for our partner agency programs at CHOC, Human Options, Camp Pendleton and our Raging Colors-Expressive Art for Teens programs and many others.”

Event chair Darren Moll of Alex Peyton Events & Catering inspired the event theme and provided the gourmet meal based on Barcelona’s Catalan cuisine. Michelle Moreno served as event co-chair while the auction chair was Sue Stinson.
Paul Leon accepted the Nonprofit Partner Agency of the Year award on behalf of Illumination Foundation, Laura Svette was recognized as Teacher of the Year and Volunteer of the Year was Sue Parr. Erin & Bob Praefke were recipients of the organization’s Generosity award.

The gala began with an expansive silent auction and ‘Barcelona Sangria’ reception among the Lyon Air Museum’s impressive collection of authentic aircraft, rare vehicles and related memorabilia. Cocktail hour was followed by dinner, awards ceremony and live auction with auctioneer Jim Nye.
