Brush Fire In Dana Point Erupts Behind Doubletree Hotel

DANA POINT, CA — A brush fire in Capistrano Beach ignited at Doheny Park Road and Coast Highway on Wednesday, according to Orange County Fire Authority.

As of 2:15 p.m., roughly a quarter-acre burned, OCFA Capt. Thanh Nguyen told Patch. Though the brush near the Doubletree Hotel was burning, there were no structures threatened.

Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the blaze.

The fire burned "really close to the highway," California Highway Patrol officers stated.

There was no indication of how it began as of this report.
