A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff’s Department July 4-5. All incidents were reported within Laguna Niguel unless otherwise noted.
Thursday, July 4:
Patrol Check. 10:04 a.m. Hillhurst Drive/Crown Valley Parkway. A caller reported that he believed the air conditioning unit at Vons was broken. It was making a loud noise for the past three days and he was unable to sleep because of it. He tried contacting the manager at Vons and he was no help. The police spoke with the manager and he stated he had a mechanic coming within the hour.
Firework Violation. 10:52 p.m. Alicia Parkway/Kite Hill Drive North. A caller reported that teens were throwing fireworks at vehicles driving down Alicia.
Friday, July 5:
Prowler. 3:01 a.m. 33900 block of El Encanto Avenue. A caller reported that a man was in the backyard of the location looking through windows. (Dana Point)
Disturbance. 4:50 p.m. Niguel Road/Waterford Lane. A caller reported that she picked up her husband from a psych unit at an outpatient facility and he was acting strange. He jumped out of the vehicle and was running through the complex. He was 56 years old and wearing a blue shirt, black pants and slippers.
Disturbance. 7:51 p.m. 27200 block of Ryan Drive. A caller reported that the smoke detector at the location repeatedly goes off and the homeowners refuse to change the battery. He wanted deputies to tell them it’s a disturbance of the peace security. The property management company is aware of the issue.
Petty Theft Report. 10:52 p.m. 28100 block of Bluebell Drive. A caller reported that someone stole her daughter’s Hello Kitty beach cruiser bike.
