'Fate Of The Furious' Boots 'Boss Baby' In Huge April Opener
The race to the top was no contest for the 'Fate of the Furious,' which zoomed by all competition in the 3rd largest April opener.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA -- "The Fate Of The Furious" raced past the $100 million line to open in the box office winners circle this weekend.
The eighth movie in the "Fast And Furious" franchise is the third biggest April opener ever, according to record books kept by comScore's Paul Dergarabedian.
It was estimated by Universal to be on track for $100.2 million this weekend.

"The Boss Baby" was maturing into a real hit, in second place this weekend with $15.4 in estimated sales between Friday and the close of business Sunday evening. It has sold $116.3 million in tickets in the United States and Canada in 17 days of exhibition.
Disney's "Beauty And The Beast" crossed the $1 billion mark in worldwide sales in this, its fifth week of domestic exhibition. It was third place domestically, with at $13.6 million weekend projected.

Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies this week, as estimated by the studios, were "Smurfs: The Lost Village" ($6.5 million), "Going In Style" ($6.4 million), "Gifted" ($6.4 million), "Get Out" ($3 million), "Power Rangers" ($2.9 million), "The Case For Christ" ($2.7 million) and "Kong: Skull Island" ($2.7 million).
