Former Mrs. Orange County Arrested for Child Porn

The Irvine woman, 25, also belonged to Latter Day Saints churches in San Clemente and Irvine. Police are seeking additional victims.

An Irvine woman who formerly held the title of Mrs. Orange County was arrested Wednesday on charges of producing and distributing child pornography.

Meghan Breanna Alt, 25, was taken into custody in San Diego County by investigators assigned to the multi-agency Orange County Child Exploitation Task Force (OCCETF), according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Department press release. Alt is suspected of using a 4-year-old family member to manufacture child pornography and electronically distribute it for financial gain and/or gifts.

Alt was crowned Mrs. Orange County 2014 and competed in the Mrs. California 2014 Pageant in June 2014. She has also been involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in San Clemente and Irvine where it is believed she assisted with and monitored young children as a church volunteer, according to the sheriff’s department.

According to Orange County Sheriff’s Department, investigators conducted a traffic stop on Alt in San Diego County about noon on Wednesday. During a subsequent interview, Alt confessed to several allegations of production and electronic distribution of child pornography involving the 4-year-old female family member. Investigators have obtained evidence that Alt distributed the sexually explicit images electronically to a Marine stationed in Southern California in exchange for cash and gifts.

Investigators also believe Alt advertised services online which many times resulted in an exchange of sex for money; often occurring with her children present.

Alt was arrested for production and distribution of child pornography and lewd and lascivious conduct with a child. She was booked into Orange County Jail and being held on $100K bail.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

According to the Mrs. California 2014 pageant program, Alt’s husband is Adam Troy Alt; a business card ad in the pageant program identifies him as an attorney and OCSD Lt. Jeff Hallock confirmed the two are still married. He also said the husband appeared to be unaware of his wife’s activities and cooperated with investigators.

Anyone with information regarding additional victims is asked to call the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victim’s Unit at (714) 647-7418 or (714) 647-7000. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS (855-847-6227) or at occrimestoppers.org.
