Help Find Chewie! Lost In Laguna Niguel
Chewie, a friendly male dachshund, escaped from the backyard of a home he was visiting in Bear Brand Ranch. Have you seen him?

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — On Sunday, a Laguna Niguel family discovered that a beloved Dachshund had escaped from the backyard of their home.
"He's a 5-year-old, friendly, tan dachshund," Emily Lorber tells Patch.
He responds to his name, and food. He is also microchipped.

Chewie was staying with family in the area of Riverstone and Morning Dove, in the Bear Brand Ranch area.

At some point, he escaped the backyard through a dog door in the early morning hours, Emily Lorber tells Patch.
"We've checked local animal shelters, but so far, no luck," Emily Lorber said.

Chewie has been a member of the family since he was little enough to be bottle fed, they say. He has been with his owner through her major life events, through her engagement, wedding, and the birth of their first baby.
He is a happy-go-lucky dog who loves cheese more than anything, except his owner, Lorber says. "We are heartbroken, and hope by some miracle he is found safe."
