Laguna Niguel Motorcyclist Dies In Head-On Ortega Highway Crash
A 57-year-old Laguna Niguel man was killed Sunday morning near Lake Elsinore, CHP says.
LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA —A Laguna Niguel man riding his motorcycle was killed Sunday in a head-on crash just west of Lake Elsinore.
California Highway Patrol reported the death of a Laguna Niguel resident, 57, whose identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin. On Sunday morning, he was headed east of the Lookout toward Orange County when he swerved into oncoming traffic, attempting to negotiate a right curve in the road.
The motorcyclist was driving his 2005 Buell motorcycle at speeds of 50-55 mph when he collided with a 2016 Nissan Frontier, driven by a Corona man, 36.

According to CHP, the Nissan driver, who was traveling at speeds of 35 mph, attempted to avoid the motorcyclist by moving onto the shoulder.
Officers say he was ejected from the Buell and died at the scene. The Nissan driver was slightly injured, and no arrests were made, CHP officers say.
