Laguna Niguel 'Relay For Life' Raises More than $20,000

According to its website, the Relay for Life of Laguna Niguel raised more than $20,000 during its event this weekend.

A total of 125 participants on 10 different teams combined to walk around the track non-stop throughout the day and night, from 9 a.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday. The event took place at Niguel Hills Middle School.

LaVelle Froboese, from the City Family Fights Back team, was the highest individual fundraiser, with $1,375. City Family Fights Back was the highest fundraising team, with $4,650, followed by Bonnies Bosom Buddies with $3,710 and Red Shoes Book Club with $1,715.

On Saturday night, a special luminaria ceremony took place, where participants honored those who have battled cancer, and remembered loved ones who've passed away.
