Mega Millions Drawing Tonight; $62M

There were no tickets sold with all six numbers in Friday's drawing of the multi-state Mega Millions lottery and the estimated jackpot for tonight's drawing will grow to $62 million.

One ticket with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, was sold at a 7-Eleven in Orangevale in the Sacramento area and is worth $427,749, a California Lottery official announced.

Two other tickets with five numbers, but missing the Mega number, were also sold -- one each in Illinois and Wisconsin -- and are each worth $250,000.

California law requires major payoffs of lottery games to be paid on a pari-mutuel basis.

The numbers drawn Friday were 24, 29, 30, 34, 56 and the Mega number was 1. The estimated jackpot was $55 million.

The drawing was the eighth since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.

The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions web site. The overall chance of winning a prize is 1 in 40.

The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
