​Orange County Jails Again Offering Inmate Visits

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Inmates in Orange County jails will be able to schedule one visit each month with loved ones, the county's sheriff announced Thursday.

For the first time since March 2020, inmates will be able to visit with up to two adults and two minors at one time. Anyone hoping to visit a loved one in the jail will be required to make an appointment in advance.

“We understand the value of visitation and know those in our custody and their loved ones have been impacted over the last year as we navigated the challenges of COVID-19,” Sheriff-Coroner Don Barnes said in a statement. “We look forward to reinstating visiting in a way that is safe for all.”

Under the new guidance, newly booked inmates will be subject to a 14-day quarantine period before being allowed visitation.

To schedule a visitation, individuals should look their loved one's booking number and call the individual jail where he or she is housed. Phone numbers for each Orange County jail are listed below.

Visitors are required to wear face covering at all times and undergo a screening when entering the jail, the sheriff said. Courtesy face coverings will not be provided at jails. Up to two adults and two minors are allowed to visit an inmate at a time.

Visiting hours are Friday to Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
