Police Calls: Student Arrested Following Home Invasion Burglary Scare

A rundown of calls that came into the O.C. Sheriff’s Department September 13-14. Incidents reported from Dana Point are noted as such. Other incidents were reported in Laguna Niguel.

Friday

• A mother reported that her 22-year-old son was having a meltdown over having his cell phone taken away. He may have been under the influence of drugs, but no weapons were reported. The report was taken around 2:45 p.m. at the 32400 block of Outrigger Way.
• Several teenagers were continually dropping their pants at Hidden Hills Park around 6 p.m. A caller was concerned as a sex offender lives nearby.
• Two men were chasing each other around 10 p.m. in the Seaglen apartment complex. One of the men was bleeding. When approached, one of the men started arguing over his calling 911. Neither victim wished to prosecute for a misdemeanor assault. However, malicious mischief occurred, as a flashlight was thrown through a car window. They were last seen running toward Albertson’s.  

Saturday

• A dog was on the roof of a residence on Saltaire around 9:30 a.m. Animal control was called, then cancelled, as the animal eventually got down.
• A man and his wife heard an apparent burglar at the back door with what sounded like a knife at the 25000 block of Calle Playa around 3:30 a.m. The husband was advised to put away his loaded handgun before police surrounded the home. Police arrested and released a 23-year-old student before taking him to the hospital for injuries he incurred prior to the incident.
