Three subjects were pursued on foot, and all three juveniles have been detained, according to Braun. The fourth suspect remains at large as of 4 p.m., Inouye says.

A possible fourth subject, thought to be a young, possibly Hispanic male, was sought around the park, and within the Via Lomas Street area, according to Inouye. The assistance of a department bloodhound was added as of 4:15 p.m.

That search was called off an hour later, Inouye said.

"Residents should be aware that a shooting occurred, and call 911 if you see anything suspicious," he said.

The shooting took place near Laguna Hills High School. Those on campus for sports were temporarily locked down during the search.
