Surf's Way Up! 12-Foot Sets Forecast

A high surf advisory remains in effect throughout the day, but health officials advise swimmers of elevated bacteria from storm runoff.

LOS ANGELES, CA - High surf will pound the Southland coast today as a result of a long-period swell.

A high surf warning will be in effect in Los Angeles County until noon. A less serious high surf advisory will be in force in Orange County until 8 p.m.

In L.A. County, forecasters expect surf of 1-15 feet with maximum sets of 12 feet this morning, gradually subsiding over the day. Surf of 6 to 10 feet, with 12-foot sets, is expected in Orange County this morning, decreasing to 4 to 8 feet this afternoon, NWS forecasters said.
