Arriving just in time from Windflower Press for National Poetry Month, WRITE NOW. If I can create poetry, so can you! helps even the most intimidated get the right words in the proper order. Once a reluctant student of poetry herself, author Kimberly Krantz of Laguna Niguel reveals an easy, step-by-step process for creating poems that bring satisfaction rather than panic.
“Write Now. is just the thing to get you seeing that poems are everywhere, waiting for you to set them free,” says poet Laura Miller, author of Chopping Wood, Carrying Water. “The exercises show you where to look, how to listen and how to write them down. Easy to carry, easy to use, an inspiring and enjoyable writing ‘coach’ designed for poets and a great tool for every writer.”
As a college student, Kimberly Krantz enrolled in an English class focused on poetry. She was familiar with a few poets like Edgar Allan Poe and Maya Angelou but she had never tried her hand at writing. While she worked hard to develop her skills, her first few efforts failed. After struggling for weeks, she stayed after class one day to ask for help from the instructor. Before she could even speak, he advised her she was failing the class and should drop out. With much embarrassment and some relief, she immediately did just that.

Twenty-five years later, she enrolled in a Journaling class at the Laguna Niguel Sea Country Community Center. All went well until the instructor announced that students would be writing poetry. Those old feelings of failure immediately flooded back. This time, however, Kim decided to stick it out and stay in class.
Jen Hanson, author of Pinwheels says, “Kim is thorough, creative, clear and gentle. She calls to the reader, beckons them into her world and pow! - - - she begs the big questions, thoughts and ideas.”
