Bastet is Pet of The Week at Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society

She's goddess of cats.

Bastet is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 6 year old, 8 pound, female, Domestic Short Hair cat.

Don’t confuse “Bastet” with a “basket.” She was named by ancient Egyptians as the goddess of cats, home, fire, sunrise, music, dance, and pleasure.

Bastet kitty would like to receive the love and respect that goes along with her name. She’s an equal opportunity receiver. She doesn’t care if the special treatment comes from a person or another cat. If she approaches a person or another cat who doesn’t adore her, she will keep looking until she finds one who does.
