Breast Implants Ruptured By Sidewalk Fall, Ex-Mayor's Wife Claims

SAN DIEGO, CA – Ruptured breast implants are at the center of a trial involving the city of San Diego and the wife of the city's former mayor.

Cynthia Hedgecock, the wife of former San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock, sued San Diego, claiming that a damaged sidewalk is responsible for her ruptured silicone breast implants. Hedgecock alleges in the lawsuit against the city that she tripped and fell on a public sidewalk in Pacific Beach and ruptured her implants, resulting in required surgery.

Originally slated for Monday, opening statements have been rescheduled to start Tuesday in the trial.

Hedgecock, now a conservative talk radio host, served as San Diego's mayor from 1983 to 1985. He was forced out of office over a scandal involving illegal campaign funds.
