A new report ranked the best and worst states to raise a family. See where California ranks on the list.

CALIFORNIA -- Not surprisingly to Californians, the Golden State was named among the best states to raise a family in a newly released study. What may be surprising, however, is which states ranked better than California in WalletHub's 2018's Best & Worst States to Raise a Family.
According to the personal finance website, the study's authors compared the 50 states across 42 key indicators of family-friendliness, from median family salary to housing affordability to unemployment rate. California rounded out the top 10 best states to raise a family.
In individual categories, California ranked fourth in lowest infant mortality rate and number of families with young kids. The Golden State also ranked 16th in separation and divorce rate, 24th in property crimes per capita, and 28th in share of uninsured children.
