Calling All Photographers: Nat Geo Accepting Entries for Travel Photographer of the Year Contest
The deadline to enter the 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year contest is fast approaching!

For the first time ever, National Geographic will name a 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year grand-prize winner and recognize the most compelling travel photography taken in the past two years.
National Geographic is accepting entries from the general public until Friday, May 27, in three categories: Nature, People and Cities.

"Our Travel Photographer of the Year program is a way to show that our readers are among the world’s best travelers and photographers," said George Stone, editor in chief of National Geographic Travel. "We are passionate about visual storytelling and we hope that our contest will inspire our global audience to explore the planet and use photography to tell amazing stories."
In addition to the prestigious title, the grand-prize award winner will earn a seven-day Polar Bear Photo Safari for two at Churchill Wild–Seal River Heritage Lodge in Manitoba, Canada, a National Geographic Unique Lodge of the World.

The winning image will be featured in the National Geographic Traveler magazine and on the National Geographic Traveler photo contest website. The 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year will also receive a one-year subscription to the magazine.
First-, second- and third-place prizes will also be awarded in each category.
