Do You Speak Chinese or Vietnamese? Bilingual Poll Workers Needed
Volunteers can earn a stipend from $90 to $110.

The Registrar of Voters is making an appeal to the city's bilingual residents to help out as poll workers for the San Diego mayor's election slated for Nov. 19. Volunteers who speak Chinese or Vietnamese in addition to English are in demand.
According to Registrar Michael Vu, there is an urgent need for 50 more Chinese bilingual and 30 more Vietnamese bilingual poll workers. Bilingual volunteers help citizens who are not proficient in English to vote at local poll sites, Vu said.
Bilingual poll workers must attend orientation training, and can earn a stipend from $90 to $110.
All poll worker volunteers must be U.S. citizens, a registered voter in California, and able to read and write the English language.
