Fourth of July 2016 Fireworks, Events in San Diego County: Where to Celebrate

San Diego, CA — Fourth of July 2016 falls on a Monday, so many folks will be lucky enough to enjoy a three- or even four-day holiday weekend this year.

Saturday, July 2

Oceanside Parade — At 10 a.m., the 22nd annual Oceanside Independence Day Parade will march up Coast Highway, from Wisconsin Street to Pier View Way near the Oceanside Civic Center. For more information, click here.

Independence Day at the Border — From 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., join San Ysidro Chamber of Commerce at Larsen Field for South Bay's best firework show and a day full of fun. More 12,000 are expected to attend. The event features food, drinks, carnival games, live mural painting, children’s inflated city, multiple stages with live music. Sunday, July 3

Oceanside Fireworks — At 9 p.m., a fireworks show will blast off from the El Corazon site at Rancho Del Oro Road. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. with live music and food trucks. For more information, click here.

Monday, July 4

Coronado Fourth of July Parade — At 10 a.m., the annual Coronado Independence Day Parade will make its way down Orange Avenue, from 1st Street to Churchill Place. Arrive early for a place to sit. For more information about this and other Coronado Fourth of July events, click here.

An 1800s Fourth of July — From 11 a.m to 4 p.m. at Old Town San Diego Historic State Park, crafts and activities of early San Diego recreate an Independence Day celebrated on the frontier. For more information, click here.

Santee Salutes — From 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Town Center Community Park, 550 Park Center Drive in Santee, this event kicks off with a kids fun zone, live music and food, followed by a patriotic ceremony and a fireworks show. For information about where to park and other event details, click here.

53rd Annual Festival and Fireworks — From 4 p.m. until 9:30 p.m., join 20,000 patriotic festival-goers on the Great Green at California Center for the Arts in Escondido. Arrive in the afternoon to enjoy food, games, children’s activities and more. Stay for a performance by the 1st Marine Division Band just prior to a dazzling fireworks display. Port of San Diego Big Bay Boom — At 9 p.m., watch San Diego's biggest Fourth of July Fireworks show as four different barges launch fireworks on San Diego's Big Bay. Stake a spot early at viewing locations including Shelter Island, Harbor, Island, North Embarcadero, Marina District, Seaport Village/South Embarcadero or the Coronado Ferry Landing. Be sure to tune your radio to THE MIGHTY 1090 AM or MAX FM 105.7 for a simultaneous patriotic broadcast. For more information, click here.

Ocean Beach Fireworks — At 9 p.m., tune in to KyXy 96.5 for a patriotic broadcast as fireworks simultaneously spout off the Ocean Beach Pier. Arrive early for a spot on the beach. For more information, click here.

SeaWorld Fireworks — At 9:30 p.m., SeaWorld will light up the Mission Bay area with a 17-minute fireworks show. For information about watching the show from inside the park, click here.

San Diego County Fair — At 9 p.m., the Del Mar Fairgrounds will light up with fireworks on the last day of the San Diego County Fair. The show is free with fair admission — and there is plenty to do on the Fourth of the July at the fair. For a schedule of the day’s events, click here.

La Jolla Cove Fireworks — At 9 p.m., watch a fireworks show at Ellen Browning Scripps Park. Arrive to pick your spot and watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean from one of San Diego’s most picturesque locations. For more information, click here.

Legoland Fireworks — At 8:30 p.m, the “Red, White and BOOM” fireworks show will rock watch Legoland in Carlsbad, capping off a day of Fourth of July activities beginning at 1 p.m. For more information, click here.
