San Diego County has four of the priciest zip codes in the nation​, according to a new report by PropertyShark.​

LA JOLLA, CA — California real estate is expensive. In fact, 91 of the 100 most expensive zip codes in the U.S. are in the Golden State, according to a new report by PropertyShark.

Los Angeles County claimed the highest number of priciest zip codes with 21, according to the study, but San Francisco took the title of the most expensive city with 13 of the country's priciest zip codes. The Bay Area is the most expensive metropolitan area. The region is home to 55 of the country's most expensive zip codes.

San Diego County has four of the priciest zip codes in the nation. Rancho Santa Fe's 92067 is the 29th priciest zip code, according to PropertyShark. It's the most expensive zip code in San Diego with a 2019 median home sale price of $2.414 million.

La Jolla's 92037 landed in the 95th spot on the list with a 2019 median sale price of $1.45 million. Zip codes in Coronado and Del Mar also made the list.

  • 92067 in Rancho Santa Fe ranked 29th with a 2019 median sale price of $2.414 million
  • 92118 in Coronado ranked 76th with a 2019 median sale price of $1.565 million
  • 92014 in Del Mar ranked 80th with a 2019 median sale price of $1.538 million
  • 92037 in La Jolla ranked 95th with a 2019 median sale price of $1.45 million

PropertyShark's Methodology: To determine the most expensive zip codes in the U.S., PropertyShark looked at residential transactions closed between Jan. 1, 2019, and Nov. 5, 2019, taking into account condo, co-ops, single- and two-family homes. All package deals were excluded.
