MCASD Announces $75 Million La Jolla Museum Expansion Project
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego unveiled plans to expand exhibition space in La Jolla.

LA JOLLA, CA - Celebrating its 75th anniversary, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego unveiled plans to expand exhibition space in La Jolla by launching a $75 million campaign to fund it.
The expansion will quadruple the gallery space from 10,000 square feet to 40,000, allowing the museum to display their considerable permanent collection, according to reports.
Plans call for closing the La Jolla museum in January 2017, moving exhibitions to MCASD buildings downtown until the renovations are completed in 2020.

The museum has already raised $56.7 million toward its goal and has engaged a New York architectural firm for the expansion, according to reports.
