CALIFORNIA – Valentine's Day is around the corner, and we know what candy Californians are craving. Conversation hearts are the most popular candy for the sweetest holiday in the state, according to the Candy Store.
U.S. consumers are expected to spend $1.7 billion on candy for Valentine's Day, according to the online candy store, and Californians aren't the only ones who love the tasty conversation pieces. In fact, conversation hearts have surpassed heart-shaped boxes of chocolates as the most popular Valentine's Day candy in the country, according to the Candy Store's sales data from the past decade.
More than 513,000 boxes of conversation hearts are sold to Californians leading up to Valentine's Day, according to the online retailer. Heart-shaped boxes of chocolates are the second-most popular in the state, followed by chocolate roses.
