National Funding Returns as Holiday Bowl Sponsor

SAN DIEGO - National Funding will be the title sponsor of the Holiday Bowl college football game in December in San Diego, for the second year in a row.

The agreement is for the 2016 game only, which will be played Dec. 27 between representatives of the Pac-12 and Big Ten conferences. Financial details weren't disclosed.

Founded 17 years ago by Dave Gilbert, National Funding is a San Diego- based financial technology company serving small- to medium-sized businesses nationwide.

"We're so grateful to Dave Gilbert and National Funding for stepping up to serve as the Holiday Bowl's title sponsor for the second straight year," said Ted Tollner, president of the San Diego Bowl Game Association. "We're in the business of annually staging a championship caliber football game that provides the San Diego region with a considerable economic benefit and we're proud that our nonprofit effort merits their continued partnership."

National Funding also sponsored the 2015 contest. Previous sponsors included National University, Pacific Life and SeaWorld.
