The San Diego-based parent company of ProFlowers and other e-commerce brands donated $25,000 to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation, a week after firefighters battled a dozen or so blazes throughout the region.
Officials with Provide Commerce said many of its hundreds of San Diego employees were affected by the fires. They said the donation was a token of gratitude.
"This gift is our way of sincerely thanking the amazing team of first responders who tirelessly fought the terrifying stream of wildfires in San Diego last week," Provide Commerce CEO Chris Shimojima said. "Many of our Provide Commerce employees live in the paths of the firestorms and had to evacuate. But every one of them was safe, thanks to the incredible job the firefighters did and are still doing."
