VTech Recalls Baby Rattles, Crib Mobiles Due To Safety Hazards
The company's Shake & Sing Elephant Rattles pose a choking hazard, while the Lights & Lullabies Travel Mobiles pose an injury hazard.
CALIFORNIA – VTech is recalling thousands of baby rattles and crib mobiles due to safety hazards.
About 280,000 Shake & Sing Elephant Rattles are being recalled after reports that the ears on the elephant rattles have broken off and posed a choking hazard to young children, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
VTech has received five incident reports related to the rattles. No injuries have been reported, according to the commission.

The recalled rattles, model number 80-184800, were sold online and at retailers nationwide for about $8 from November 2015 through November 2017.
VTech is also recalling its Lights & Lullabies Travel Mobiles. The clamp attaching the mobile to the crib rail can break, which could cause the mobile to fall into the crib, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. About 37,000 mobiles have been sold in the U.S., in addition to 4,800 in Canada.

The company has received six reports of the clamp cracking. No injuries have been reported, according to the commission.
The recalled mobiles, model numbers 80-503000 and 80-503050, were sold in blue and pink for about $25 from February 2017 through November 2017.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact VTech for a full refund or a replacement product. VTech can be reached online at vtechkids.com or at 800-521-2010 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday.
