24-Year-Old Woman Dies On Train Tracks In Corona

She died on the tracks, just east of the Joy Street railroad crossing in Corona, the coroner reported.

CORONA, CA โ€” A Corona woman who died Monday on railroad tracks has been identified by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.

Kelly Goldberg, 24, was pronounced dead at 4:08 p.m. just east of the Joy Street railroad crossing in Corona, the coroner reported.

Goldberg was struck by a freight train, according to City News Service. Her time of injury was 3:55 p.m.

It was unclear whether she did not see the train approaching, or tried to make it across before it arrived.

BNSF officials shut down the rail line for several hours after the fatality, which remains under investigation by the Corona Police Department.
