50 Acre Brush Fire Shuts down Interstate 15 northbound at Temescal Canyon

On August 25, 2019 at 10:58 am, CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters, with assistance from USFS Cleveland National Forest, responded to reports of a vegetation fire near the northbound Interstate 15 X Temescal Canyon Road in Temescal Valley. The first arriving Chief Officer reported approximately 1/2 to two acres of vegetation burning in heavy fuels at a slow to moderate rate of spread. The fire is now ten acres, burning in light grass/flashy fuels. The number three lane of northbound Interstate 15, 1/2 mile south of Temescal Canyon Road has been shut down.
