70-Year-Old Perris Motorcyclist Killed In I-215 Crash

The California Highway Patrol released crash details on Monday.

DEVORE, CA โ€” A 70-year-old motorcyclist from Perris was killed over the weekend after he crashed on Interstate 215 and was run over by an SUV, according to details released Monday by the California Highway Patrol.

Robert T. Davis was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson Fatboy in the #2 lane of southbound I-215, north of Devore Road in Devore Heights, at an unknown speed at around 10:06 p.m. Saturday. For reasons still under investigation, he crashed into another motorcyclist and was ejected onto the freeway, according to the CHP.

The driver of a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox who was travelling at approximately 65 miles per hour hit the Perris man. Due to his injuries, Davis died at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

"At this time, it is unknown whether alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision," the CHP reported Monday.
