91 Freeway Shootings Continue, Suspect(s) Sought

Two more shootings were reported Tuesday evening. In all the cases, a bb or pellet gun was used to shatter motorists' windows.

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA โ€” Two more vehicles traveling on state Route 91 were shot at Tuesday, leading the California Highway Patrol to issue another plea for help in locating the suspect(s).

The shootings occurred minutes apart, with the first reported at approximately 5:51 p.m. A white GMC Safari van was heading eastbound on the freeway, east of Lincoln Avenue, when the vehicle's left-side window was shattered by a bb or pellet gun hit, according to the CHP.

The second shooting was reported at 7:01 p.m. A white Jeep Wrangler headed east on the freeway, east of Tyler Street, was struck by a bb or pellet gun. The vehicle's left-side window was shattered, the CHP said.

No injuries were reported and the victims were unable to provide any suspect information.
